This beautiful building opened in the fall of 2019 and has seen an overwhelming enrollment increase in students majoring in biology and chemistry. The Science Education Center will now allow NSU to offer cutting-edge research opportunities to students at the undergraduate level. Students have an opportunity to work on many great causes such as cures for childhood cancer and Huntington’s Disease.
The remarkable feature of this building is the front entrance. Made entirely of glass one cannot help but notice the beautiful “cherry wood” linear metal ceilings that highlight the exterior and interior of this building. Installing almost 17,000 square feet of linear ceilings came with many challenges and obstacles from different slopes and angles to varying height differences. Using equipment such as lasers, protractors, string lines, and squares, we were able to determine the exact measurements of each height and angle.
The school wanted a building that felt warm and inviting but also offered a “wow” factor that would draw students to the campus. With the experience of Golden Valley Supply, advice from Ceilings Plus and the install capabilities of the acoustical contractor, we were able to give the school exactly what they wanted, an amazing looking ceiling installed to perfection and on time.
